1. d4 d5 2. Bf4 c6 3. c3 Bf5 4. e3 Nf6 5. Bd3 Bxd3 6. Qxd3 e6 7. Nd2 Bd6 8. Bg3 Qc7 9. f4 Nbd7 10. Ngf3 c5 11. a3 a6 12. Bh4 c4 I spent about 10 minutes deciding whether my Queen should move to c2 or e2. I decided qc2 would stop his Queen going to b3 and threatening my pawn on b2, plus still giving me the option to castle either side. I knew his Knight would come into g4, but my Nf1 would protect my e3 pawn. 13. Qc2 Ng4 14. Nf1 Ngf6 15. N1d2 Ng4 16. Nf1 Ngf6 17. N1d2 Ng4 A perpetual check meant that the game was a draw. The outcome wasn't a shock, as we both know each other's game so well.
